Agile is a popular SDLC, yet it doesn't work for all projects.  Our customized approach based on CMU Spiral Model is very popular with our clients. The CMU approach is not disruptive to an Agile approach. Typically, a nominal case is setting a sprint-cycle = project release cycle, and they are very similar.

The CMU model sets the expectations and delivery a little better than others - it blends Agile and Waterfall.  It starts small, and completes a project cycle, developing all components, modules and integrations within that cycle.  Then iterates on next project cycle, expanding scope of delivery. Within 3-5 project cycles, we have developed your ideal software solution. However, each project cycle can be considered "release" software, thus enabling your business to rapidly go to market.
